Tweet of the day: Elliott Erwitt

The thinking mans Martin Parr

The picture shows two people in a Catacomb. The the people look mid twenties and of Eastern European descent. The look totally perplexed by the setting. You can almost hear the “its over if you are going to be like that”. The corpse to the right of the mans head is in exactly the same stance as the man. I feel the image has a heaven and hell feel to it. The bodies to the left look light and the in the shadows of the right look dark and tormented

I am a visual artist and poet who works within the context of fine art. My work is grounded in documentary, exploring the inner beauty of everyday life through various lens based media. Notions of nostalgia and social commentary are present, but from a definite northern working class perspective. Instinctively I exploring the townscapes of North Wales and the North West, often producing work that reflects the every day minutiae of life.
